I am looking for something made out of real wood with corner block reinforcements in the drawers and screws, not just staples and glue. Am I being too picky? I am looking for a very high quality, low profile bed. The headboard must be upholstered. I’m also okay with an upholstered platform. I have seen many beds that are upholstered that have a built in box spring… This would be good, but I want to get as LOW DOWN to the ground as possible, and in this case, I am feeling like it would be better to buy a regular platform bed, and just get a low profile box spring because the beds with the built-in box spring use the 9inch box spring. I want to find a bed that is as low down to the ground as possible…. but it must be high quality. Cannot look tacky. Preferably no leather. Would prefer a high quality upholstery on the headboard. The bottom can be wood or fabric. I basically want it to be on the floor. But I can’t find anything! Any ideas?

IKEA doesn’t sell beds in twin xl. Most of the big furniture stores I’ve checked don’t have them.

I’m looking for a good bed to buy for my room, because I’m going to renovate over the summer. I’m looking for a full size bed, that’s black (or has a really dark finish) , that has storage (or room for storage boxes underneath), and has a sleek, modern, contemporary look. It would be awesome if it had a headboard of some sort. (Sorry for being picky… XD )
My mom said it’d be good if it was solid wood, but what are the pros and cons of using solid wood? What about engineered woods? (Other than price) We live in a humid town.
